Create a hidden CDF parameter

Hi All,

I would like to create a CDF parameter in Pcell Designer but I want to keep it hidden from the pcell user.

I have tried to use the Visibility Tab, but this did not seem to be working.

If we are creating CDF using Skill code, we have ?display option under cdfCreateParam() command, where we can give an expression to determine the display of a CDF parameter.

I wanted to know if there is a corresponding feature in Pcell Designer.

Thank you.

Regards,

Shweta.

    Hi Shweta,

The visibility is not for that purpose. That controls whether a CDF parameter is also a PCell parameter or not (if creating CDF, it's equivalent to the parameter being set to "cdf" or "both" on the Device Variables tab).

Currently PCell Designer uses the display for "pages" control, but doesn't directly allow you to set the display condition for CDF parameters you create yourself within PCell Designer. If using externally created CDF, then it is certainly possible - but in that case, PCell Designer is just used to specify which of the CDF parameters are going to also be PCell parameters.

We are doing some work to provide complete control over the creation of the CDF within PCell Designer, but it's not ready yet. I need to check whether there is a workaround to do what you want, but the key PCell Designer developers who know about this part are on vacation this week...

So the workaround is to create the CDF outside of PCD and use that.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
