HB anaylsis in MMSIM 7.1

Yusuf

I am using MMSIM 7.1, but HB analysis option is not available in the ADE analyses list.

I can chose pss and chose FB engine, but couldn't find any separate HB analyses tab. Any idea ?

I am using MMSIM7.1, IC5141

Thanks

Are you using a recent enough subversion of IC5141 (check the date - I think it would need to be from December 2008 or so onwards)?

Do you have the tools link in your MMSIM71 installation - look at <MMSIM71instDir> and see if there is a link called "tools" pointing to tools.lnx86 or tools.sun4v - or whatever platform you're using. I think that must be there, otherwise the flex balance choice wouldn't appear on the form.

Make sure you haven't got another MMSIM release earlier in  your path.

Probably the first is the most likely explanation though...

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hello,

Actually I have the same problem as the first post. I use MMSIM7.1 and I have Frequency Balance option under PSS, PNOISE and PAC but no seperate analysis as HB. Does anyone know if HB is replaced completely by FB or there should  be a separate option as HB?

    Best,

    Gozen

    Hi Gozen,

Your IC subversion needs to be at least:

IC5.1.41.500.5.129 (USR6 or later is recommended)

    IC6.1.1 ISR65

    IC6.1.3 ISR5

And later subversions to access the MMSIM 7.1 new features via the GUI.

This is documented in Cadence Online Support (http://support.cadence.com)

    Solution 11514518:

SpectreRF IC GUI support for new MMSIM 7.1 release

    http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:ViewSolution;solutionNumber=11514518

I also recommend looking at Solution 11575904:

What is the difference between hb/hbac/hbnoise

    and the harmonic balance Q/PSS Q/PAC, Q/Pnoise

    http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:ViewSolution;solutionNumber=11575904

which discusses the difference between (for example) Q/PSS and hb analyses, Q/PAC and hbac analyses.

    Best regards,

    Tawna
