Problem with nport

I am using Cadence 6.13 with mmsim 7.2

I have a problem running simulation that include the nport component. I get the following error:

ERROR (SFE-874): "input.scs" 20: Unexpected keyword "options". Expected equals.

At other times, I also get the following error:

*Error* fprintf/sprintf: format spec. incompatible with data - "Format is ' noisecorr=\"%s\"', argument #1 is nil"

I am using touchstone files for the nport data and I do not have any noise data. Is there any solution to this?

Thanks

Did you just file a service request on this recently?     It would be helpful to see your netlist.   I suspect there's a problem in your syntax.

    best regards,

    Tawna

On second thought...I believe you have run into a known bug that is fixed in  IC6.1.3.500.15.

Also, have you set the following env variable?  If not, please do so.

    setenv CDS_Netlisting_Mode Analog

I have the CDS_Netlisting_Mode env variable already set.

Actually, Cadence doesn't generate a netlist in the 1st place. It gives the error:

*Error* fprintf/sprintf: format spec. incompatible with data - "Format is ' noisecorr=\"%s\"', argument #1 is nil"

Sometimes it randomly generates the netlist but creates the other error I referred to: ERROR (SFE-874): "input.scs" 20: Unexpected keyword "options". Expected equals.

I checked my cadence version and it's 6.1.3.1

Do you think the solution is to update to 6.1.3.500.15?

    Thanks for help

If upgrading to the latest ISR doesn't fix the issue, please file a Service Request with Customer Support

It sounds like there is a problem with netlisting.  You are using a pretty old version of software.  I cannot reproduce the issue here.

It is always helpful to provide the settings that you are using in the nport.   I suspect the netlisting error is unrelated to the unexpected keyword error.  But you haven't provided enough information to know for sure.

    best regards,

    Tawna

I've seen similar problems cause by using an analogLib which is not from the release of software you're currently using. What can then happen is that the CDF of the nport and the netlisting procedures (which are in the software installation) are inconsistent - and errors can occur.

So that might be worth looking at.

    Andrew

@Andrew: You are right. This was actually the problem. The analogLib was pointing to an older version Thanks a lot!!!
