I implemented transient response of a circuit in cadence 8HP.I wanted to determine the frequency response of the circuit using MATLAB. I heard that I need to save a file in cadence and give that file as input to MATLAB.I wanted to know where and in which format I should save the file. And also how can I give it as input to the MATLAB.

You can check the documentation in <MMSIMHome>/tools/spectre/examples/SpectreRF_workshop/SpectreRF_AN, there is an application note and workshop for the SpectreRF Matlab toolbox. They are described here: http://www.cadence.com/community/blogs/rf/archive/2009/02/09/shhhhh-spectrerf-tutorials-and-appnotes-one-of-our-best-kept-secrets.aspx
