IC 614 installation issue

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to install IC 614 on RHEL 6 (I've tried also with CentOS 6.0 and I exactly have the same problem) but it is getting a nightmare.

I'm able to install all the packages (IC, MMSIM, Assura and LCU) correctly using inscape.

I'm able to set-up the license server and to make the lmgrd process running (the same workstation is running the license and also the software).

I create a user environment and set all the variables according to an initialization file I've taken from a woking IC 5 installation.

I do the following:

1. change shell to tcsh

2. source initfile

3. virtuoso

At this point I get the following error:

error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I would be very happy if someone can help me.

L.

RHEL6 is not a supported platform for IC614, and no testing is done on it. Normally that shared library would be in /lib - on my RHEL5 machine it comes from an RPM  glibc-2.5-18.i68 - maybe you don't have it because your glibc is too new?

Also check that you do not have the $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL env var set.

Either way, you're using too new an OS; we have supported OS versions for a reason - so it's clear what we've tested under:

    Regards,

    Andrew.
