ADE GXL: Global Optimization

Hi,

I'm running global optimization in ADE with a fairly large design space. As I understood from the documentation, global optimization does not require a starting point and will search the entire design space. However, the optimization run stops after only ~6000 points and says run complete no better design point can be found. If I then gave it a different starting point it finds a different optimum point. This tells me it is not searching the entire design space. In the options for the run I have tried both the "search points with no improvement" and "search points after condition met" set to 100000 and the simulation still stops after only ~6000 points. Also, the option is set to full evaluation instead of conditional.

Is there a way to get the optimizer to search more points or is this some sort of limit?

I'm running Cadence IC 6.1.5 and the simulation is s-parameter with noise.

Thank you,
