Cadence license for IC616

Hello,

We are currently using IC5141 and have the license present on a server. Now we want to install new version of Cadence IC616 on some of our machines for which we need to update the license. The question that arise is

1. Will the new license (for IC616) fully support the older version of Cadence (IC5141) as some students are using the older version and some will be using the newer one? or the older version pf license will work?

An early response will be highly appreciated.

Provided that you are using IC5141 USR4 or later, then you can use IC5141 using the IC616 product licenses. You can tell by looking at the output of "icfb -W" and if it either gives a USR number, or is of the form:

     sub-version 5.10.41.500.6.151

The ".6." part indicates that this is based on USR6.

USR4 was released in September 2006 (which was about when IC610 was released). So "icfb -V" (or Help->About) should show a release date from around this time or later.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Yes I checked ...it gives

    sub-version 5.10.41.500.6.140

so I understand that our old version will run with the new license of IC616. Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Regards,
