RCX Error

analogy

Althought it seems like a licensing error, I really don't know what wxactly is the reason for that :

Did you mean to be using Assura RCX rather than QRC? I'm not sure that's the reason, because the error message is quite clear. Did you try doing:

    lmstat -f Assura_RCX -c 5280@licenseserver

where the 5280@licenseserver is the bit that it reported as "license server location" in the error message? (typically this should be whatever the value of $CDS_LIC_FILE is, or failing that, whatever $LM_LICENSE_FILE is).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Oh, yes.We still use RCX as most of us are used to be using RCX.

The lmstat was a UNIX command not a SKILL command, and so it has to be entered in a UNIX terminal. I mistakenly assumed that was obvious. The use model for QRC is essentially the same as for Assura RCX, so there is no good reason to keep using technology that has been obsolete for about 10 years and hasn't had any of the fixes in the intervening years... you just need to have a (recent) EXT release installed and in your path.

That suggests you simply do not have the Assura_RCX license feature in your license file. Hence the problem...

Maybe it really is time to move to QRC? Perhaps you can look in the license file itself to see what  you've got (or do lmstat -a -c 5280@...)?

    Regards,

    Andrew.
