Dear All,

I want to know the inside netlist of the port  present in analogLib ( the exact way it evaluates the signal ).

Can anybody please tell where I can gest this information from ?

Kind Regards,

It's just a voltage source which generates twice the level of signal that you specify, in series with a resistor (the value of which you specify, but defaults to 50Ohms). This is if you specify the signal level as a voltage rather than a power - and so if the circuit to which the port is connected is matched to the impedance, the voltage at the pin of the port should be what you specify.

Because there's a resistor inside, you can also specify the output as a power (in dBm). The resistor also serves as a noise source for measuring noise figure in the various noise analyses.

This is covered in "spectre -h port" (I think - I don't have access to the software right now) and also in the Spectre Simulator Components and Device Models Reference manual in the MMSIM documentation.

There's also the documentation for analogLib (in the IC documentation)

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I couldn't find the path to Virtuoso Simulator Components and Device Models Reference and documentation for analogLib. Could you tell the path to these documents

I had a typo in my previous post (I said Virtuoso Simulator Components rather than Spectre Simulator Components...). Anyway, the best way to find these manuals is using cdnshelp. If you run <ICinstDir>/bin/cdnshelp it will open the IC documentation by default, or if you run <SPECTREinstDir>/bin/cdnshelp it will display the SPECTRE/MMSIM documentation. In either case you can change the settings form (Library tab) to add documentation from other streams so you can see it all in one place or search across multiple releases (precisely where the settings form is depends on the version of cdnshelp you're using).

Anyway, these two manuals can be found as PDF files using these locations:

    • <SPECTREinstDir>/doc/spectremod/spectremod.pdf
    • <ICinstDir>/doc/analoglibref/analoglibref.pdf

By the way, the forum guidelines ask you not to post on the end of old threads.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
