Error in Evaluating IIP2 with Monte Carlo

Hello All,

I would like to know why Monte carlo iteration is being terminated prematurely while computing IIP2 due to the following error:

ERROR (SPECTRE-8003): mc1_subckts: Error evaluating ocean expression `MONTE_EXPR_1=ipnVRI((v("/Voutp" ?result "hbac") -
            v("/Voutn" ?result "hbac")) '-1 '0 ?rport 50.0 ?ordspur 2)'.

I am presently using cadence Virtuoso IC6.1.3.500.13

for the spectre :  sub-version 7.1.1.187.isr11

Thanks as I look forward to possible suggestions and solutions.

Is there any reason why you need to use such old versions? These have not been supported for a very long time, and trying to diagnose the problem (especially without sight of the data) would be very hard. Could you try in  IC617 with MMSIM151 or SPECTRE161 instead of using 7-year old versions of the software. There have been countless improvements since then, including in how the monte carlo expressions are evaluated, and so that would be a far more sensible starting point.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks for your usual and kind response.
I will try switching to the new cadence version and later check if the expression will be evaluated without terminating prematurely.

However, this old version works fine when I ran the Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate the dc operating point variations due to proccess and mismatches.

I will get back to you after switching to the new cadence version.

    Thanks.
    Best regards.

Many thanks for the suggestion. Switching to cadence version IC6.1.7 solved the problem of the error in evaluating the IIP2 expression.
    Best regards.
