problem displaying OS param in calculator

Hello, i need to use OS param for building a formula, however it gives me an error shown bellow.

When i try t plot gm or id the regular ADEL way or using OP, then it works fine but for some reasin the OS is not working.

Where did i go wrong?

Thanks.

Please see my post to your prior question. The answer is you need to start reading the documentation. You need to supply the results directory I believe. The following expression worked fine for me as shown in Figure 1 using the test case I created to verify my last response to your post:

    OS("/M0" "ids" "<results_dir>")

It looks like you were trying to use the calculator. Please verify the calculator is pointing to your results directory if you don't want to include the results directory as an argument to function OS()>

I doubt that this is due to needing the results directory argument; normally the calculator would be tied to the right results provided that the calculator was opened from the relevant simulation session. Most likely it's either that the device doesn't have ids as an operating point output, or that it wasn't saved. Given that you're talking about plotting gm and id using OP, then that's probably indicating that you didn't save the operating point data for a sweep.

As has been covered on countless times in these forums, the operating point parameters are only saved by default for a DC operating point (or for use of a DC operating point during a transient using infotimes). They are not saved for any swept (dc sweep, transient) analysis. In order to save them you must (in current versions) use Outputs->To be saved->Select OP Parameters (from memory - the wording might be slightly different) and then you can control which operating point parameters are saved for which devices.

You then should see in the results browser after simulation that these device parameters are present for the dc (I mean dc not dcOp) or tran results. The OS (operating sweep) and OT (operating transient) functions should then work for any parameter you've saved.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Hello Andrew , As you said i was able to plot OS("/M0","gm") when i did  Outputs->To be saved->Select OP Parameter->gm

how ever when i tried OS("/M0","ids")/OS("/M0","gm") then i get an error with the Ids

expression evaluation failed: val is not legal.
    expression evaluation failed: OS("/M0","ids")/OS("/M0","gm")
    ("quotient" 0 t nil ("*Error* quotient: can't handle (srrWave:0x302dc090 / nil)"))

However when i have Outputs->To be saved->Select OP Parameter->ids it let me plot Ids, but gm expression gave an error.

How can i save both ids and gm so i could plot OS("/M0","ids")/OS("/M0","gm")?

    Thanks

Please show the OP Param setup on the ADE window so I can see what you've done, plus the save statements from the bottom of the input.scs

    Andrew.
