RF filter using CPW lines with gnd plane

Designed an edge coupled BPF using microstrip lines. The same dimensions have been used for CPW coupled lines CPW2LINA. In the layout view the coplanar gnd plane is invisible. While doing EM analysis using Analyst, getting the same results that of the edge coupled using microstrip lines. Is it correct? Will edge coupled microstrip filter and edge coupled CPW filter behaves same for same dimensions?

    Hi Pournamy,

Can you share the dimensions of the elements you are using? A screenshot of your schematics would be helpful.

In general, it is possible for CPW2LINA model to exhibit the same behavior as Microstrip models if the coupling between the lines is small. There are many potential reasons for your results but my first thought is to check the gap between the traces in the CPW2LINA element. If this gap is large enough, you will get little to no coupling between the traces.
