IP3 of Mixer

Hi everyone,

1) I am trying to measure the IP3 of a mixer that mixes a sin wave with a pulse wave. So can i use PSS + PAC to measure IP3 of this circuit or I have to use QPSS+QPAC.

2) If I have to use QPSS + QPAC, how can I fix the error QPSS did not convergence

Thank you.

That's really not enough information to go on. You didn't say how you'd set anything up, exactly how it was failing to converge, which version you're using, and so on. Are you using harmonic balance (you probably should for a 3 tone IP3 simulation - I presume the LO is square, and the two RF tones are sinusoidal). I doubt shooting QPSS would be a good fit - but without more data it's very hard to advise.

    Thank you Andrew,

    This is my circuit.

It include 4 switches which are controlled by 4 pulse waves : s1, s2, s3, s4 and these pulse waves are divided from a main pulse source.

    About the setup of QPSS:

I setup the frequency of pulse source is fLO, the first tone of input frequency is Frf, the power of input tone is prf.

Then when I simulate, the output log show that QPSS is nonconvergence

    Dear ThaoCao,

Did you happen to read through this recent Forum post that poses an almost identical question? There is a link outlining when the use of QPSS and PSS are warranted and some resources for better understanding appropriate simulator settings.
