Presto X - Skeletal View of shapes and traces ?

Coming from the "old" editor, I always appreciated the possibility to display traces and shapes in a "skeletal" way with sharp edges and where the opacityof traces and shapes could be adjusted

This facilitated the possibility to keep track of underlying layers without having to enable shadow mode. Enabling this was possible in the user preference menu.

I have searched the menus but found no way of enabling such a display mode in the Presto environment.

Since the release I use is the first publicly available, I guess that addittional features will be added as time goes on.

File an enhancement request or is the setting available somewhere?

Hi Ulf K, there are some opacity and shadow settings in the visibility tab in presto which you can use

If not can you share the sample image of what you are looking for?

Nope. Been there but no menu option for skeletal view. Tried inserting an image of what I am looking for but the site returns "An error has occurred..." and my response is rejected. I will submit a request to Cadence support.

Skeletal view is when all elements are unfilled with only the outer extent is visible. A trace or shape is displayed in the same manner as an unfilled pad. And in this mode, the opacity of the surface inside the extents can be controlled by sliders as in the old GUI

Just downloaded HotFix 003 and tried the "Stippled" view for the different objects in the Presto environment. Cadence is "almost" there (skeletal view not yet implemted as in the old GUI) but one thing that IMHO could be improved is that the (unfilled or filled) squares in the display settings could have a third view when a stippled pattern is selected. (And a fourth view once skeletal view has been introduced) I have not also been able to set stippled pattern for traces with defined net colors. The setting for this is either not implemented or does not work. This results in fully opaque traces when a net color is assigned. And... why is the minimum opacity setting locked at 25% ? Entering a lower value does not work.

Hello Ulf K, Cadence is  working on implementing Unfilled shapes feature in Presto. Regarding the stipple pattern for traces which have color assigned to them, there is a CCR 2998982 submitted for this Bug.
