OrCADX Tip of the week: How to open existing board files in the Presto PCB Editor from OrCAD X Capture?

To do this, set OrCAD X Presto as the active layout tool in OrCAD X Capture. This will open any associated layout in OrCAD X Presto.

Perform the following steps to set OrCAD X Presto as the active layout tool:

1. Choose PCB > Design Sync Setup to select the layout tool.

2. In the Design Sync Setup dialog box, choose OrCAD X Presto from the Select Layout Tool drop-down menu.

3. Select OK to save the settings.

4. Select a board file in the Project Manager, right-click, and choose Launch PCB Editor.

5. The board will be opened in OrCAD X Presto.

Note: This setting will be saved only for the current project.
