Adjust timing requirements of nets with delay tune in OrCAD X Presto

The Delay tune feature is exclusively available in OrCAD X Presto Professional licenses.
In OrCAD X Presto, the Delay tune icon is available in the floating toolbar. You can tune the traces, which requires to match the timing or length of nets. Here is the view of the delay tune window:

Presto offers three types of delay tune patterns: Accordion, Trombone, and Sawtooth.

  • You can set Gap, Corners, and Miter Size:
  • Gap is spacing between bumps.
  • Corners are 45-degree, 90-degree, and arc-based bumps.
  • Miter Size is applicable to 45-degree corner bumps. There are optional buttons, Centered and Hug.
  • Centered will maintain the bump patterns at the center of traces. See the following two images:

             Non-Centered:

             Centered:

  •  When Hug is enabled, it will avoid other routed traces when tuning the trace segments and will maintain the spacing rule.

  • When Hug is disabled, it will not avoid other routed traces. It will overlap with other traces. Here is the overlapping zone (highlighted by a red rectangle box).

  • The 'Diff Pair Single Trace Mode (Alt)' check box will help adjust the delay tune in single traces when nets have differential pairs, as shown in the following image.

Hope this will help you utilize this feature better!!
