3D Mode not working

Hello,
Another question that I have is the 3D view. I can not upload a screenshot to get a better understanding, so I will try my best to describe what I see. As I looked up on Youtube to a video from Cadence using this function you see the 3D view of the components when you select the 3D mode from the visibility tab. In my case, instead of the 3D model, for every component there is a big blue box. In the Boundary tab I have selected Both (Place Bound & DFA Bound - if I select Place Bound the big blue boxes still appear on the screen, if I switch to DFA Bound the boxes dissapear and I see just the PCB with the traces and holes, nothing else). Do I need to import the STEP model for every component or is it a limitations that comes with my license ? I have to mention that I am using the Academic Trial.

Hello VG202410142615 , Do you have steps model mapped to the components? If yes, you can select the "3D model suppresses boundary shape" in the dropdown below "Boundary" section.

If no model is mapped, you can map them through the 3D mapper ,  Enable the Model Mapper using View > Panels > 3D Model Mapper

You can browse to the individual step file against components.

Hello mahimag , thank you for helping me ! The models were not mapped. I thought that when you create a PCB the the models are mapped automatically to the respective components.
