Tip: Configure Auto Backup Preferences for Better Design Protection

Keep your design data safe and recoverable by optimizing the Auto Backup settings in OrCAD X Presto:
  • Auto Backup is enabled by default, automatically saving design revisions at regular intervals in the working design directory.

  • Customize the backup interval from 5 to 360 minutes by navigating to Edit → Preferences → General → Auto Backup.

  • Define a backup file name or use the default naming convention to easily identify backup files.

  • Control the number of saved revisions by setting Maximum Backup Revisions between 1 and 10, helping balance recovery options and disk usage.

  • Maintain multiple recovery points
