Creating Macro/Scripts with extensive editing

Hello,

I'm working a very large package design with another designer.  We are now working the same shift and I'd like to record some Macros to capture and input my work into the other designers database.  I'm finding that once multple commands and roaming are entered into the script the tool tends to lose its reference and features get placed incorrectly.  I've tried recording in Macro mode with mixed results.  I thought I would post to see if there are some common issues with this type of scripting.  I'd also be interested in others experience with converting journal files to script.

Thanks in advance,

Todd

    Hi Todd,

Please forgive me my ignorance, but is there a reason you'd be trying to use macros and scripts for this, rather than using the team design functionality that Cadence builds into the tools -- most notably, in this case, the Design Partitioning capabilities? Using DP would help to ensure that neither of you makes changes the other one doesn't see, nobody changes key attributes like constraints, etc.

    Cheers,
    - Tyler
