Signal Integrity Simulation

Hi folks,

I'm new here and need some help and suggestions.

I'm trying to learn the PCB Design and SI/PI Analysis tools from Cadence. But get confused because I saw there are a lot of tools related to SI. For example there is OrCAD PCB SI, Allegro Sigrity SI Base, Sigrity SystemSI.

I need help to get high level description and kind of "vs" to understand on which case which one I need to use.

Thanks a lot.

    Hi Mik,

Most simply put, OrCAD and Allegro tools are mainly focused on layout designs… OrCAD being most cost effective for PCBs while Allegro is more geared towards enterprise level PCB and IC package designs.   In particular, Allegro Sigrity SI Base gives our users the power of PCB/IC PKG design while having integrated tools to perform SI Analyses… Integrated with the SI Base are the Sigrity tools.

That leads us to Sigrity tools, which are focused on SI/PI analyses.   It comprises a set of comprehensive tools to solve the electrical parasitic models of PCB and IC Packages (such as using Sigrity PowerSI) and then be able to use those models in a system level simulation environment (inside Sigrity SystemSI).

There are a lot of materials on our web site explaining the benefits of our technologies, more than any one of us can type here on this forum:

I would encourage you to browse through the web site and then contact your local Cadence Sales Rep to start a dialogue to guide you down the right path to obtain the solution that best suits your needs.   Thank you.
