Extracting Parasitic RLC on Cadence APD+

APDCloud

Hi

Just want to have your comment or maybe help me understand if the Cadence APD+ can extract accurately the parasitic RLC of the layout? And if yes, what parameters or settings should be observed before performing the parasitic RLC?

My customer mentioned that my extractions could be wrong, otherwise the layout is wrong due to large values of inductance and resistance.

Currently, I only know the command "show rlc" and "show parasitic" to get this RLC.

Thank you.

The stackup should be accurately entered in APD+ for the parasitic RLC command to give accurate result. RLGC for the given line structure is field-solved. Subsequently, standard transmission line theory is used to calculate the impedance value from RLGC.
