Documentation about default classes and subclasses

I am new to Cadence Allegro. I find tens of default classes and subclasses. Are they documented somewhere? Some are self explanatory by the name, but others not. I am looking for detailed information.

My current issue: I want to draw some reference lines just to guide my design in some class/subclass that is completely ignored afterwards, like a comment in a code file. Is "Substrate geometry/outline" the appropriate for this? Or "Drawing format/Outline"? Other?

I have used any subclass in the 'ANALYSIS' class, since they are no longer in use.

I also encountered a similar situation when I first started using Allegro. In my experience, classes like Substrate Geometry/Outline are often important in defining the actual contour of the board, so they should not be used for temporary reference lines. solitaire bliss

Instead, you can use classes in the Drawing Format group (e.g. Outline or Notes) or classes in Analysis as @DavidJHutchins suggested, as they usually do not affect the fabrication process.

If you want to be more explicit, you can also create a separate subclass to contain these comment lines, so it is easy to turn on/off the display when needed.

I would recommend you create you own subclass. You can do this in Setup > Subclasses ...

Once there, choose the Class that better fits your requirement (Manufacturing, Analysis, etc.) and then create your own subclass.
