Help needed!

Hi!

I need help connecting the TI PCM1870 and the TI TMS320C6701 together as a part of my course work. It should be done in OrCAD.

Could some of you guys propose me a schematic, showing the two connected (wired) together? And it'd be also great if you point me out some librairies to download for the CAD design tools.

Any help appreciated greately!

P.S. What about initializing the registers?

I whould like to state that I have no Idea what the goals of your project are or how much money you have to spend on it.
but if this is a student project that you want to have working  by the end of the smester may I offer a few sugestions and statements.

My guess is that you don't have tons of money and you want this audio effect to work the first time

Forget the BGA stuff costs a lot and you can't fix it with out a lot of eqiutment. the only practical way for you to get somting like this working in short order is to by a dev kit for the DSP and make a proto board with just the audio chip. there is no way that you are the qfn or bga to a board your self, you are going to have to pay for that.

my sugestion on how to do this your self is get your self a 8-bit dac(spi bus) and  8-bit adc(spi bus). and conect them like this:

adc-spibus->dsp devboard-spibus->dac->audio amplifier->speaker.  implement the effects in the DSP chip!

I know your saying 8-bits I want 16-bits right now, the reason I recomend the  8-bit parts is because 16-bit dac/adc are a lot harder than 8-bit ones. noise starts to be an issue. 16-bits you need to know about layout and  buffering and such.  Microchip sells spi dacs and adc that you can get in DIP'S that are easy to work with. If you must have stero just use two dacs and two adc.

Good luck! Here is a great page on wiring the SPI bus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_Peripheral_Interface_Bus

also this is not the best site for this sort of question

I guess I cannot find the solution either (I'm an engineering student). It was asked a couple of times here, in the community. But no scheme has been provided. All topics are quite old and I found the tutorial here: Tips for Optimal High Speed SPI Layout Routing by team of experts via essayhave
