Problem to install the license manager with the FlexID

Hello,

I'm using OrCAD 16.3 with windows 7 pro.

I'm trying to install the licence manager but it is always finishing with this errors :

- Unable to start Cadence License Server with the new license file 'C:\Cadence\LicenseManager\license.dat'.'
Please check the license log file 'C:\Cadence\LicenseManager\debug.log' for details.

- Failed to install the FLEXid dongle driver.

- Failed to update your CDS_LIC_FILE license path with the new license server setting '5280@xxxxxx'.

I'm pretty sure the problem is the FlexID.I found someone on the forum wich has the same problem and same log  but  with windows 8.1 :

www.cadence.com/.../29064.aspx

I've tried to change drivers of the dongle and many other things but nothing have changed. I passed hours on it and i'm a bit desperate !!

If someone has an idea i'll be glad !

What you are seeing is correct for the 16.3 license manger install on a 64 bit Windows OS because the license manager installer is trying to install the32-bit dongle drivers, 64-bit Windows won't allow this and the error gets all the way back to the license manger status as a fail, hence the message. In the majority of cases a simple reboot will correct the problem since Windows will get the required dongle drivers at reboot from Windows update if the machine is connected to the internet at reboot. If the machine is not connected to the internet, there is a FlexID 64 bit installer executable in the flexid directory of the license manager installation directory, or better, try a search for HASP USB drivers, or something like that, on a machine that is connected to the internet, you should get to the site for SafeNet Inc where you can get the required drivers, look for the "latest dongle drivers" and a Windows GUI run time installer, 6.63 looks like the current version and then install those drivers.

(16.3 was released before the more common adoption of 64-bit Windows machines which is why it assumes the installation of 32-bit drivers. Later license managers have a "mixed" installer and will install 32, or 64, bit license manager and drivers as required)
