Mass updating design cache after server migration?

I'm working out the details of a server move that would result in a change in the UNC path for drawings, symbol libraries and other orcad files. (\\oldserver\libraries\ -> \\newserver\libraries). From some failed experimenting, I don't seem to be able to update the DSN files as plaintext when opened in Notepad++ without corrupting the files. So I'm wondering if anyone else has been in this situation where all the hard links within the orcad files are no longer valid, and what their solution was.

Of course, I could tell everyone that every existing file will be 'broken' and need to be manually updated in several places (depending on # of libraries) to point to the new location...but I'm hoping there's something less disruptive that can be done instead. There are tens of thousands of these files, so it's not feasible for me to manually fix the files before switching servers. And unfortunately I can't point the old server name to the new one because it will still be used for other things afterwards and must retain the same name. I think I'm going to have this same issue with Altium files, but there are not as many of them.

Is there any CLI/programmatic way to interact with capture? Any mass-update tool? I'm even considering creating a scripted robot app that clicks to open orcad, and then finds portions of text on the screen corresponding to symbol libraries to update, then saves and closes. We can't be the only users to have migrated to a new server with new paths.....so it is a bit disappointing if the only solution really is to tell users to manually fix their files, as they encounter them.

Have a look at Tools  Utilities - Replace Path in Design Cache which will do this for you.

This only seems to work for some parts and it's not consistent across libraries. Some of my diodes updated correctly, some did not. Is there another method for doing this across the entire design rather than line by line?
