OrCad Capture Annotate (advanced annotation) error message : more than one rows do not contain start and/or end values

Hello,

I like to annotate the refdes according to page number. (example: Page 8 has components in 800 to 899). I desire to have a hierarchal design as follows:

page 01: just text

page 02: some components and has hierarchal rectangles with ports for my other pages

pages 03 to 10: schematic pages subordinate to page 02.

I have 2 problems.

Problem 1:

Look at my picture 2 lower in this post. Page 10 is in parallel with page 09. I don't want that. I like to have it in a structure similar to may pages 03 to 08. How do I fix that?

Problem 2:

If I do Tools->Annotate->OK buton I get this error:

"more than one rows do not contain start and/or end values". The start value and end values boxes are empty here. It wasn't like that before.

If I do Tools->Annotate-> Advanced annotate button  ( see second picture below), I can make it work without errors because each page has their start and end values.

I don't have the same quantity of pages through both techniques. I have a main page 02 with some connectors I like to annotate with subordinate pages. Picture 1 doesn't have the 02  main page, but picture 2 does have it.

How do I fix those 2 problems?

Thanks,

Frank

The Refdes control option only annotates the Hierarchical Blocks, and it does need the Start / End specified for all of the H. Blocks. The Advanced Annotation function takes care of the whole design, including Pages for a Hierarchical design. Set the Start / End for for each of the design objects on the left and use Unconditional Reference Update Action to override all existing annotation.

    Thanks for your response oldmouldy.

Ok. I think I understand. So I need to do the advanced annotation because I have parts on page 2?

How do I fix the page 10 problem.
