OrCAD Capture Export PDF question

Wesley Lai

Dear Sir,

I am a newbie to Allegro, even though I have 16 years of experience in PADS.
I created a schematic and then exported the PDF to provide to the customer. However, I have not been able to understand why the text of red box shown in the picture always appears. Can it be deleted?

That seems to be the "Name" of the corresponding component property, but the component property "Name" cannot be modified in OrCAD Capture.

I have sought support from agents in Taiwan, and they gave an unclear reply "It should be impossible to delete or change".

Can someone tell me why?
Because the client can't understand why there is that string of text, and we don't know what it is going to do.

Thank you.

The clear reply is: "The Name Property Value is assigned by Capture to uniquely identify the Part, in this case, Instance in this DSN file. This Property Value cannot be changed unless the Part is deleted and placed again, in which case, another Name will be uniquely assigned. If the Design is in Occurrences Mode, the identifier will be Part Occurrences and Part Occurrences will be uniquely assigned to the Parts in the DSN file" A similar thing happens with Wires where Capture uniquely identifies a Wire placed in the DSN file with a N<nnnnn> Name, a difference for Nets is that a Net Alias can be assigned to override the internally assigned Name.

    Dear Oldmouldy,

    Thanks for your reply.

You answered my question, but I derived another question: When I will export a PDF, can it be hidden?

File - export - PDF, in PDF page under exclude properties add the property which you want to exclude.
