Connect footprints from PCB Designer into Capture

I have received BRD and OPJ files etc from a freelance designer, when I try to run design sync in capture I get many errors regarding missing footprints. Seems there are several libraries which were used to make the files which I dont have access to.

I have exported all the components (File - export - libraries) from PCB Designer and have a folder full of .pad .psm and .dra files.

How can I get capture to recognise these footprints?

Make sure you set the padpath and psmpath in PCB Editor (Defining padpath, psmpath and steppath (parallel-systems.co.uk) then try again

thank you, this should help with DRC footprint errors in Capture? The 'source library' entry for the parts in capture appears locked to a location from the previous designer. Cant figure out how to add parts to a library, or set these paths in capture

    FYI

Orcad: any library symbol in the schematic can be copied into a new library from the design cache. Windows cut and paste works fine.

Allegro: Do a library dump into a file folder of your choice and add the path as Steve stated below.  Method is: File -> Export ->Libraries

We have use a number of design organizations from other locations, internal and external  that don't share theirs or our libraries and this is the method we use to access the footprint files (usually do to poor footprint designs).

Note:  I am using 16.6 and assume later versions work the same.

Note: per Steve's note, you must include the library "dump" path
