OrCAD - Tip of the Week: Graphical locking of objects you do not want to be changed

Does your design also have a central IC around which all the connections are to be done? And so, you don’t want the IC to move even a grid. You want that the IC should be fixed in its place, making it easy for you to draw wires from it to other part pins.

Graphical locking in Capture allows you to do just that. Right-click on any part and select ‘Lock’ to lock that part from moving on the page.

 

You can even lock a page, schematic folder, or even the entire design if needed. All the parts in the locked page, folder, or the design get locked.

 

You can still add or delete properties from locked parts.
