OrCAD - Tip of the Week: Password protect your design

OrCAD Capture allows you to password protect your design, ensuring that only intended people, who have the password, can open it.

To lock your design by a password, right-click on the design name and select Set Password.

Once locked, even when you share just the design file (.dsn file) with someone else, the recipient would require a password to open it.

The main drawback here is the password recovery. Any updates planned on password recovery ?

As of now, there isn't a way to recover the password.

If a user some case forgets password then he has to design from scratch. Anyway where .dsn can be opened in notepad and remove the password like we do .cpm open in notepad ?

.DSN is not an ASCII file. It cannot be opened/read in any text editor.
