OrCAD - Tip of the Week: Suppress a DRC warning for selective parts

It is a common situation where a particular DRC warning is relevant for one part of the design while it needs to be ignored for some other part.

 

In situations like this, suppressing a warning for the entire design will be problematic as valid warnings will get missed, while running it for the entire design will give you a lot of redundant warnings.

 

To solve this, Capture allows you to selectively waive a DRC warning for a part. You just need to right-click on that instance of the DRC marker to suppress it. Suppressing this instance will still allow the same DRC to be flagged on other parts of the design.
