OrCAD - Tip of the Week: Connectivity across different pages in a design

A schematic design will almost always have multiple pages and there will be a need to take signals from one page to another. It can be a tedious task for designers to establish the connection between multiple nets coming from different schematic pages.

Capture offers the offpage connector to transfer connectivity from one page to another. Two nets or buses on different pages, which are to be shorted, should be connected to the offpage connector of the same name.  It should be done even when you have given the same name to both nets on different pages.

For example, in the following image, SW nets on page 1 and page 2 are being shorted though the SW_C offpage connector.

The netlist shows connectivity between U1 and U2:

Offpage connectors can be placed using the toolbar icon.
