Get access to external parts from within Capture

Designers spend a lot of time searching for a schematic part and its relevant data, like footprints, datasheets, etc., on the web and configuring it into their library. What if you can use a familiar web-based component search in your schematic design tool itself? Would it not be unique and helpful in saving a lot of effort?

In Capture 17.4, the ‘Search Providers’ option gives you precisely this. By using the Place > Search Providers menu, you get access to SamacSys and Ultra Librarian databases. You can search for and download millions of electronic components, symbols, footprints, manufacturer datasheets, and 3D STEP models from these Cadence-supported content providers. You can easily find the required part and place it in your design. The part, associated metadata, and available ECAD models are saved to your local library.

It gives you the freedom to search for component data based on electrical parameters and supply chain information, such as cost and availability. You can filter the results further to narrow in on the component you need.
