OrCAD Capture hangs

I have a schematic design of more than 100 pages and the total size of the schematic file is around 150MB. This is causing the OrCAD Capture to slow down or buffer for at least 4-5 seconds for every operation that I perform like even moving the components. This is affecting my productivity. 

Is there any way to  reduce the schematic file size? or any procedure to eliminate this slow down/hanging issue?

I have renamed the Capture.ini and there are no special characters in my design. I am using OrCAD Capture 17.4 with the latest Hotfix(S035)

    There are few more options which you can try:

    1. Go to main menu Options > Extended Preferences.
    2. Select Design and Libraries under Extended Preferences.
    3. Uncheck the Perform read-only check on tab switch property option.

    Also, try turning off online DRC, turn off Enable Intertool communication from Options > Preferences > Miscellaneous tab and see if it improves performance or not. If issue still persists and has been observed with only one particular design, then I would suggest you to approach Cadence customer support with the design to report this issue.
