How to share a multi-block design?

With today’s design complexity, a design is not just one design but rather a combination of multiple modules talking to each other. Very often these modules are developed by different designers at different locations, and the master design references all these modules to bring the entire circuitry together giving us the final complete schematic.

Now, sharing such a project which has multiple blocks pointing to different designs is easier said than done. It is important to maintain the external design linkages for the project to work correctly. Simple copy and zipping the project will not solve the purpose as all the referenced modules will not come together and even if they are copied together, the linkages will get broken.

Capture solves the above problem with Save Project as functionality which allows you to bring the main design and all the referenced designs together and keep the module linkages intact.

Destination folder will have all the designs and the main design can be opened from here in which all the blocks will correctly referencing the respective designs.

You can access this functionality from the File menu. Do check this out.

Regards,

Yugandhar.
