Cannot link database part - cannot link database part on this variant because the schematic parts differ

Hi,

I'm trying to have different resistor value in different variant of the board. For example, voltage divider resistor value for hardware ID purposes.

When I use the part manager to link part to database with different value, I get the following error.

It would be greatly appreciated if anybody can point me in the right direction for fixing this error.

Are you trying to link the part with different source package ?

Even if I try parts with the same package, it still won't let me link to database.
