How to query a list of components and save the query for further use

Capture provides an easy and additional feature to search for component details and filter out results based on a certain query and later save the query details to use it in future.

Follow these steps to explore this feature:

  1. Open CIS Explorer from the schematic (using the Place > Database Partmenu or Z shortcut key).
  2. Select the Query
  3. Define the filters based on Part Number, Part Type, Value, and so on.
  4. After defining the filters, click on the Select a Queryoption and give the query a name (for example, smd_ceramic, as shown below). Then, click on the Save Query This option will get active after you define the query name.

5. Next time when you open the CIS Place Database Part window, you can directly run this query by selecting the saved query from the Select a Query dropdown list.

Hope you find this feature interesting to use.

Regards,

Yugandhar.
