tried below options,

1. Installed latest ghostscript GPL version

2. Removed sapce in project name and tried

3. Opened old schematic to nullify design issue

I had this exact same issue last week.  Same version of software and hotfix.  It seemed to have started when I updated to hotfix 038.  The only solution that worked for me was to completely uninstall Allegro and reinstall.

The issue has reappeared.  I was able to export PDFs after reinstalling, but now it stopped working again.

    Hello kyle02,

    The working solution is,

    1. Uninstall the complete setup,

    2. delete cadence all registry key from "registry editor"

    3. restart the system

4.install the only base setup for allegro17.4, dont install any hotfix, it will work.

I can confirm that Hotfix 28 works when exporting PDF.  I didn't have the issue until Hotfix 38 and 39.

There are "weird" things going on also with 23.1  Capture

The schematic PDF export gets confused if selecting paper print out using a local printer. For some strange reason, wanting a preview results in a completely black screen.the second time a print attempt is made.

Without being able to see anything though, the print out is correct. But switching between .PDF export (OrCADPS... driver) and paper print confuses the output management system.

Sometimes it seems that color vs b/w gets confused. If having several versions like 17.2, 17.4, 22.1 and 23.1, a number of "OrCADPS..." drivers exist in the system. If removing them, they will have to be recreated by defining the output from MSPublisher and using that driver.

I know that the driver should be configured in Windows for either B/W or color but somewhere (at least in my computer) settings have been intemixed. As I have to have all these versions installed because of downreving, the situation is sometimes "a bit" frustrating.

Maybe Cadence should try to create a unified (print/PDF) output management system of their own. I once tried to disect the ghostscript process if any settings in that software was the cause but found nothing...
