Facing problem in DRC solution

HASAN2024

Hello there,

I am 8making a schematics in OrCAD X Capture.

After finishing my schematics, when I do PCB> Design rules check.

I got following problem.

The DRC report says.

ERROR(ORCAP-36022): Pin number missing from Pin "1" of Package MSV2 , BR1: SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1 (1.40, 1.40). All pins should be numbered. /BR1/:  SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1  (2.10, 1.50)

I am confused what kind of problem it would be because the header already define pin number.

Also suggest to solve this problem.

ERROR(ORCAP-36002): Property "PCB Footprint" missing from instance BR2: SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1 (2.00, 2.60). /BR2:  SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1  (2.00, 2.60)

How to add the footprint-

    Hi,

This error usually appears when Pin number is not defined in the part. You can add the Pin number and PCB Footprint from the symbol editor.

Right click on the part > select Edit part option> It will open symbol editor.

You can click on Edit Pins to add pin numbers

@akshay thank you for your great help. It works well. Could kindly suggest for second problem? There is no button for replacing the footprint or it might have manual way to solve.

If this part is not available in library then do you want me to download from other site?

    Thanks for the confirmation Hasan.

Regarding PCB Footprint query, you can edit/change the PCB Footprint value from the schematic level by double clicking on the part (it will open the Property editor) as shown below:

Thank you very much. Yes its work now. I was using just name of the footprint.

Now the problem appears when I did place> new layout but I cant not place the component.

After porting to Orcad designer professional window, I did  place> quick place > the quick-place menu I selected * place by schematic page number* I put 0.24 value in schematic type placement.

Now I wanted to work on placing and routing.

Able to place things, but few parts are unavailable in it looks like as follow,

Kindly guide me, how to find the errors that not brings foot prints from schematics.

Also guide for routing. I want to finish this problem in this thread so I don't want to make new thread.
