Searching for a component in OrCAD X Capture CIS

The search feature in OrCAD X provides a quick and convenient way to search and place parts from your local workspace, external libraries, and shared workspaces.

You can access this from Place > Component.

This feature in OrCAD X supports the following ways to search components present in Unified CIS:  

  • Free-text search

Free-text search lets you easily navigate to the component with any information known about the component within Unified CIS (Component Explorer tab).

  • Field-based search

Field-based search lets you to navigate to the component with the name of the field along with the value. 

  1. Searching with a single field.

2. Searching with multiple fields in combinations
