Need to call Schematic BOM attributes in the layout

Hi,

I want to call Schematic attributes in layout (Allegro). Currently I have modified “allegro.cfg” file under section [ComponentInstanceProps]. I have added all the fields here which I need to call in layout (see snap below).

The problem is that there is one field name as “Manufacturer P/N” which we are using as a standard in our library. In layout the issue I am facing is that this column name contains Special Character such as (Space and /) and when I import the netlist with this column name it stops as Allegro does not supports the special characters.

I would be thankful if someone can provide any solution for renaming or any script that can copy all the field data and changes the column name or is there any way that I can use with the special characters in the layout(Allegro).

    The tcl book that is bundled with your install shows how you can make a script that would be able to parse through all the parts properties. Then you could use normal tcl string commands to remove the special characters.

    This would only fix it in the current state of the design. If you add new parts or update from the library, then those would have the names from the library again. My suggestion is that making such a script is your plan B. Hopefully someone else can help with plan A which is to setup Allegro to be able to import it as is.
