Problems when importing properties

JavierZgzSpain

I was getting an error when importing properties in OrCAD Capture CIS v22.1 from a modified EXP file, previously exported. As I didn't know the reason, I eventually attempted to export the properties and then import them from the newly created file without making any changes. However, I still encountered the same error. Here is the error message:

ERROR(ORCAP-1704): (Line 163) Line has more fields than the previous HEADER line

I examined the component on that line, but I couldn't find anything wrong. What could be causing this error?

Regards,
Javier

An EXP file is tab delimited text, there are probably one, or more, tab characters embedded in the property values.

Thank you for the reply, oldmouldy I finally realized what the problem was: there were quotation marks in the description property. I deleted them and exported/imported correctly..
