OrCAD X Capture CIS : Keyboard shortcut to move a symbol

Hello,

I'm a new user on OrCAD x (I come from Altium) and I started to follow the "OrCAD X Capture with PCB Editor Tutorial" on the documentation of the software.

On the schematic, I'd like to find a way to move a symbol with a command (like a keybard shortcut and/or an icon on the interface) and keep the symbol hanging on the mouse cursor, like other ECAD software.

Is there a command to do this ?

    Hello Sam,

The best way to move a part in OrCAD Capture is simply select and drag a component. You can move a part using the below command as well.

    1. Select the part which you want to move in schematic.
    2. Run the command in the command window Drag x y TRUE  (here x y are the coordinates where you want to move and place a component) as shown below

    Hello,

It's a shame not to have put an icon and a shortcut to move and stick the symbol on the mouse.

You did it for OrCAD X Presto, we can even change the shortcuts in the Preferences menu.

You have to know that when you spend hours on the design of the schematic, it can be stressful for the hand to stay long press with the left click to perform a simple action like moving a symbol.

And I'm sure from a code point of view that is possible because when you place a new component, the symbol is stuck to the mouse.

The only way I found to get around the problem is to do a "CTRL + X" and then "CTRL + V" but it's not very elegant to do like this.

Is there any chance of having this on a future release of OrCAD X Capture CIS ?

If finished some tutorials and the Move icon on Presto is very convenient.
