Multi-section Hierarchical Part Creating Duplicate Parts

I'm having trouble with a multi-section part. When I annotate, it duplicates the parts inside the Hierarchical part instead of treating it as one.

Replication:

- Create a DSN with one part (say, R1), two Hierarchical Ports (say, IN and OUT)

- Generate part from DSN (type: Capture Schematics), with two sections. Section 1 has "IN" and Section 2 has "OUT" port

- Place part into a new DSN. I place both sections in the DSN, so that I have "PART-1" (with IN port) and "PART-2" (with OUT port)

Issue:

- Part Manager shows two different resistors (R1 and R2), one from each PART-1 and PART-2

I would expect the annotation to combine the two sections into one (since both PART-1 and PART-2 have base reference of "PART"), so that I only have one resistor. Why does Capture not combine PART-1 and PART-2? Am I missing some crucial step? I also tried to use the " Reuse Flow in Allegro Design Entry CIS – Allegro PCB Editor" RAK, but it yielded the same results.

Before adding the H-parts on the schematic, make sure the Design Level(Only PCB designs) needs to be de-selected to have the references same under each block. You can do it using Options > Preferences > Miscellaneous > Design Level.

Try the following steps to meet your requirement >

    1. Open the underlying Schematic.
    2. Select Primitive as Yes in Generate Part dialog box.
    3. Select OK and Generate the Part.
    4. Now, place the H-parts again in the design.
    5. Invoke Part Manager and you will see only Part Reference of the H-part.

Let me know how it goes for you after performing the steps, are you able to resolve your issue regarding Duplicate Parts?
