Allegro Design Entry CIS 17.4 impossible to open a read-only project (worked with 17.2)

We have a protected directory where we archive our projects and inside, each sub directory containing the opj/dsn & allegro files is set in read-only mode.

Using 17.2 we could open the projects with CAPTURE/DESIGN ENTRY CIS to review the archived schematics or to copy some pages or blocks to a new schematics.

With 17.4, Allegro Design Entry CIS refuses to open the project. Is there any way to open an opj/dsn even when the directory is read-only ?

From SPB17.4, DesignName-Pspice folder gets created at project location when you try to open the design/project. If DesignName-Pspice is not present at project location , users who have read access, won’t be able to open the design, as it would try to create this folder automatically and won't be able to do so due to read only permission.

To open the design with read permission, ensure that DesignName-Pspice folder is present in the project directory.

For ex: If design name is bench.dsn then folder named bench-PSpiceFiles should be present over there.

Let me know if your able to open the project in 17.4 with read permissions after adding the DesignName-Pspice folder for your designs in shared location.
