Updating the cached parts

Update Cache is used to bring the part changes made in the library after placing it on the schematic page, provided the path has not changed. You can update multiple parts at once.

Whenever you update a part in the design cache, it will change all parts in the active schematic design, which share the same part value and library.

You can use this feature by right-clicking on any part in Project Manager.

After selecting Update Cache, any changes that are made at the library level will get reflected on the schematic page.

Do explore this feature and share your feedback.

Regards,

Yugandhar.

Neither Update Cache nor Replace Cache works for me. I've got a part in the library where the graphics has been changed somewhat and I'm trying to update the part in my schematics. Update Cache does nothing and Replace Cache with "Replace schematic part properties" ticked also does nothing. I've closed and reopened the page and even closed and reopened the project, but nothing helps.

When browsing to the part in CIS Explorer I can see the graphic changes. Only thing that works is to delete the part in the schematics and do a Cleanup Cache and then placing the part again. I'm in 24.1, but pretty sure it was the same in 23.1.
