Add Schematic to Created Part in Library

Hi there,

I am trying to create a part which models a voltage quantizer, for use in simulation only. I have a design using the Analog Behavioral Modeling, which behaves correctly. I then created a library and drew out a part with an input and output pin. I now want to be able to include the part as a stand in for the ABM blocks in other circuits. What's the way to go about this? I see I could associate a PSPice model, however what I have are a couple parts in a schematic.

Additionally, I want to be able to set NBITS as a property that can be unique to multiple instances of the part. How would I do that?

This is the simple schematic with the two ABM blocks, being simulated.

I want this part to represent the two blocks above, so I can reuse it in multiple schematics, or several in the same schematic. Ideally with NBITS being a parameter that can be set differently per instance.

Thank you

- Aaron

You can try to generate a H block and place both the ABMs inside it. Refer to this on generating a reuse part:

How to Generate a reuse part in OrCAD Capture CIS? (cadence.com)

You may also refer to FULLADD sample that comes with the Cadence installation, located at <installation_directory>\tools\capture\samples\Schematic\FULLADD

You would need to change the implementation to Pspice.

    Hope this helps.

Hey, thanks, I did end up making a hierarchical block. I'll give the library approach another try, I'd like to keep similar items together in a part library.

    Thanks!
