How to import the Altium Libraries such as Schematic symbol and Footprint to OrCAD / Allegro or How to convert the Altium Libraries to OrCAD / Allegro Libraries

Hai Community,

I have few library symbols which are in the Altium format, the .schlib, the Altium Libraries I want to convert to OrCAD Libraries such as .olb (schematic symbol) and .dra (footprint) and I want to use in my schematic design and PCB layout.

Can anyone suggest me how to convert those libraries as these libraries are important for my upcoming project.

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

We can only import libraries by placing components in dummy schematic or PCB project. We cannot import Altium libraries directly.  Altium libraries are binary and there is no direct way to export them to ASCII format.

For OrCAD Capture you can get more information for Altium Schematic by choosing File > Import > Altium Schematic Translator > Help in OrCAD Capture.

For PCB Editor you can get more information for Altium PCB by choosing File > Import > CAD Translators > Altium PCB > Help.

After placing the components in PCB Editor you can export the libraries with the help of following link.

    Hope this helps!
