How to place a database part if the “Database Part” option is not visible under the Place menu in Capture CIS

In the 23.1 release, Hotfix 003 onwards, the Component Explorer interface provides an option to place the components from a CIS database.

Selecting CIS ODBC under Categories opens CIS Explorer, which enables you to place any CIS database part on a schematic.

To open CIS Explorer and access a database, select Place > Component > CIS ODBC.

Alternatively, you can press the Z shortcut key on the keyboard to open CIS Explorer directly and access a database.

Additionally, if you want to have the option visible in the Place menu and the right-click context menu of the schematic page, follow the steps below.

  • Go to Options > Extended Preferences > CIS and enable the “Show Place Database Part menu command” option.

The Database Part command will be visible in the Place menu as well as the right-click context menu on the schematic page.

Regards,

Yugandhar.
