Saving a footprint with PCB editor breaks footprint preview in CIS explorer

Looks like plain saving of a downloaded footprint (which I'd like to edit) using PCB Editor 24.1P001 breaks the preview in CIS explorer.

The footprint pane gets greyed out and the tooltip says "No footprint selected"

Preview works for other footprints, in the same folder, if not modified.

Any workaround or should I try to downgrade PCB Editor? Same problem if I use Presto 24.1
db_doctor_ui, ovupdate did not help.

If I place the component in the schematic and I pick the Show footprint, the footprint is shown correctly instead.

thanks.

I have experienced something similar. When creating a footprint in 23.1 and linking a STEP-model to that footprint, the footprint was not visible in the CIS explorer.

This was reported (by many) and fixed with 23.1 HF 007. A workaround was to use 22.1 for footprint creation and STEP-file linking.

I guess that something similar is going on here. So, I would try to edit/downgrade a downloaded footprint using an older version and from there investigate if that would work.

...And of course give Cadence support a hint of what have been found...

confirmed. Using PCB Editor 17.4 and just saving the same file fixes the preview. Waiting for some patch from Cadence on 24.1 then.
